MSTP Applied Projects

The Science and Technology Policy Applied Project course (HSD 593) is required of all students pursuing the Master of Science and Technology Policy degree. Students will pursue an individually tailored project under the supervision of a faculty project advisor.

During the academic term prior to the project, students will discuss possible topics for their project with their supervisory committee chair. Once the topic has been decided and approved, students may begin their research and their formal research paper.  Ultimately, students will hold a public defense of their project, and submit their written report to committee members for review and comment.

The Applied Project enables students to work with some of the leading experts in their fields on issues that are directly related to their interests and career plans. Through the Applied Projects, students further refine their research and professional skills, while developing deeper understanding and expertise in a specific topic.
