Welcome to the MSTP Program
How can we build a world where science and technology improve lives and reduce inequity and injustice, rather than causing more harm than good?
As our technological capabilities continue to accelerate in today’s hyper-connected and increasingly resource-constrained world, we need a new type of policy expert—one who is able to ensure science and technology help build a better future for everyone, not just a privileged few. They will need new skills, including the ability to integrate expertise across policy, technology innovation, communication, and socially responsive and responsible innovation. And they will need to be adept at working with policy makers and other stakeholders in the public and private sector.
In the Master of Science and Technology Policy program (MSTP), we uniquely prepare our graduates to build a better future for everyone.
Drawing on some of the world’s leading experts and innovative thinkers, we are training future policy makers and analysts to tackle some of the most complex issues of the 21st century—climate change, energy security, planetary protection, social justice, public health, and socially responsive and responsible innovation, to name just a few.
The MSTP program is suited to anyone looking for a career focused on ensuring that science and technology serve society through responsive and effective policy development and implementation. It’s one that draws on the design aspirations and culture of innovation at ASU to develop skills that are uniquely matched to the challenges policy experts in public and private organizations are facing.
