On-campus vs. Online
Option A: On-campus degree program
In this program, you will attend classes in person on the ASU campus. For many, this option may provide a more convenient way to establish relationships with peers and professors.
Culminating Experience Requirement
There is some flexibility and scope in the nature of each student’s Applied Project. It can be a research paper in which students introduce a research problem, conduct a relevant literature review, describe the methodology, and then conduct research, or create a project as a solution to that problem. Students will evaluate the research results or the project in a written document.
The research sequence of GTD 505 and GTD 506 is designed to prepare students for this culminating experience. There is room, however, for a variety of other options, including a research proposal for funding, a publishable paper, or a multimedia project such as film documentary or other audiovisual exploration and demonstration of concepts, research, and development practices.
Option B: Fully online program
With the online program you will attend all classes through the internet. Your physical presence will never be required at ASU. The benefit of this program is that it enables you to be more flexible in where you live and when you study. You attend class at your convenience. We do not hold you to class appointments of any sort except for assignment due dates.
