Solar Geoengineering

January 21, 2016

“Prudence demands that we study methods that offer the hope of limiting the environmental risks posed by the accumulation of fossil carbon in the atmosphere.” - David Keith

David Keith, one of the most prominent researchers advocating for research in this field, reviewed the science and technology and of solar geoengineering, arguing that systematic management of climate risks requires the capability to implement these technologies. He explored the elements of a geoengineering research program needed to build and regulate such capability.

This event was supported by the School for the Future of Innovation in Society and by the Center for Energy and Society.
