Innovations Talk: Mahabir Pun

What does it take to nurture innovations that serve the economically poor but knowledge-rich people of society? In this talk, Mahabir Pun, PhD, will share his 26 years of experience in community development ranging from projects such as wireless education and telemedicine, income generation and nature conservation to community-based ecotourism. Committed to advancing the framework of grassroots innovations that prioritize the interests of community stakeholders who are not directly involved in standard innovation design, Pun will share his ambitious project on establishing incubation centers for achieving prosperity while attaining the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Mahabir Pun is an internationally recognized social entrepreneur and a recipient of the Ramon Magsaysay Award (Asia’s Nobel Prize), the Ashoka Foundation Award and a Global Ideas Bank Winner in addition to several other prestigious prizes and recognitions.
