Walter Valdivia has worked in think tanks since graduating with a PhD in public administration, first at the Brookings Institution and currently at the Mercatus Center. He is also a senior fellow at CSPO-DC. His research focuses on the governance of innovation.

Mark was just granted tenure and promotion to associate professor of environmental studies. He teaches policy courses, focusing on science in environmental controversies. His current research focuses on the publication expectations as science policies, the political economy of scientific publication, and the cultural divergence of students in different academic disciplines.

Jordan Hibbs is currently serving a two-year appointment as a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy in Washington, DC. on detail to the Department of Energy’s Office of International Affairs, Office of Asian Affairs. Jordan is passionate about global affairs and serves on the United Nations Association of the National Capital Area’s Sustainable Development Committee, fostering awareness, dialogue, and support for the work of the United Nations with a specific focus on matters related to economic, environmental and social justice sustainability.

Ryan studied climate science policy at CSPO, and then went on to work at the California Ocean Science Trust, a non-profit boundary organization. He is now building a new Center at UC Davis focused on public participation in science.
Natalie de Graff

Natalie de Graaf attended college at Arizona State University where she received her Bachelors in Science - Biochemistry with Medicinal Chemistry followed by her Masters in Science - Science and Technology Policy. Natalie continued her graduate studies at NYU to earn her MPH in Global Health Leadership and Management. After experience working with the United Nations, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2016 she was honored with acceptance into the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health; recognizing her merit, commitment, and advancements in Public Health. Natalie continues to serve at the U.S. CDC managing global biosecurity projects.

Monica is our career advisor with Career and Professional Development Services at ASU. She will also be available for you to learn more about what support career services offers throughout the year and help workshop your resume for application. She is passionate about assisting students in achieving their goals and interests throughout the career development process. Monica received a Master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in Psychology and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida. She is currently working on her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership through Northern Arizona University.
