"Embryos at the Intersection of Biology and Society"
Embryos are biological entities, but also have an active social life. Both the biological and social lives have changed over time. The Center for Biology and Society brings together
history and philosophy of science, bioethics, policy, law, and life sciences, with implications for science education and in an environmental context. This talk will explore those intersections.
No charge. Pizza will be served.
Please RSVP by Monday, Sept. 25.
Jane Maienschein specializes in the history and philosophy of biology and the way biology, bioethics and bio-policy play out in society. She is an ASU university professor, Regents’ Professor, and president’s professor. Maienschein is also the director of the Center for Biology and Society and a Fellow of the Marine Biological Laboratory.
